Data-gated validation instead of sign-off

A stage was complete when its measure was met, not when a document was signed.

Context

Improvement programmes routinely measure nothing after launch, or measure and then stop. Adoption is declared rather than demonstrated, and the change decays.

Intervention

Every initiative was validated against three gates: a target percentage reduction in handling time for client-facing roles, a decrease or elimination of named escalation categories to support groups, and a measured change in decision and override behaviour among support employees.

How it was proven

Metrics were reported weekly and communicated broadly. Where a gate was missed, remedial action was coordinated through the coaching and training development teams — a named route with a named owner.

Outcome

  • Automated pricing and risk processes removed 7,000 annual manual triggers.
  • The strategic vision for profitability and growth was accelerated by six months.
  • Adoption was evidenced by behaviour change, not by attendance at a launch.

Why it matters

Measurement that is not wired to a remediation owner is reporting, not control. The difference is whether a missed number has somewhere to go.
